Mavs reach Agreement with Harrison Barnes on four-year deal
Twitter: ESPN sources say Dallas and unrestricted free agent-to-be Harrison Barnes have struck a verbal agreement on a four-year, $94 million deal (@ESPNSteinLine)
It is being reported by Marc Stein of ESPN that the Dallas Mavericks and Harrison Barnes have reached a verbal agreement on a free agency contract. It is believed the agreement is on a four year deal worth around $94 million dollars which equates to $23.5 million per year, this isn’t far from a max contract.
Dallas have struck out on many of their free agent targets so far and this means they will be delighted if they land Harrison Barnes, he looks like a natural replacement for Chandler Parsons in Rick Carlisle’s offence.
Barnes averaged 12 points and five rebounds for the Warriors on 46% shooting from the field and 39% from downtown. These numbers may seem low but Barnes was the fifth or sixth option on the Warriors offence, his numbers should go up in Dallas.
The deal isn’t official, but a verbal agreement is a terrific start for the Mavericks.
