It has been reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports that the Brooklyn Nets have signed Miami Heat guard Tyler Johnson to a four year offer sheet. Johnson is only a restricted free agent so Miami could match but if they want to land Kevin Durant then they may have to sacrifice a few of their role players.
Johnson was picked up by Eric Spoelstra from the NBA D-League and he developed into the prototype ‘three and D’ player over the course of his time in South Beach. He looked a better option than Goran Dragic at times.
If Miami do not match, then the Nets will have added another young talent to their roster after a terrible year. Johnson would join the likes of Trevor Booker and Jeremy Lin as Brooklyn newcomers.
This saga is far from over as according to TIm Reynolds of the associated press, Miami are talking to Johnson’s entourage about the logistics of retaining him.
