J.R Smith says Cavaliers squad concerned about blowout loss
After the Cleveland Cavaliers were destroyed at the Verizon Center by the Washington Wizards- there was reportedly an aura of ‘concern’ around the locker room as reported by ESPN. Shooting guard J.R Smith said that the concern levels are ‘really high’ and he was reiterating to journalists that the Cavs need to up their game if they are to even make the finals ahead of someone like Toronto or Miami.
On the subject of losing games in this manner, J.R Smith had this to say
“We can’t do that. If we’re serious about who we’re supposed to be, then we can’t do this.”
The Cavaliers were without LeBron James but there is still no excuse for their dismal level of defence and lack of intensity which has seemed to plague them all season.
Head Coach Tyronn Lue was also deeply concerned with the effort as he said his stars didn’t give the effort that was ‘needed or wanted’ by the coaching staff.
The Cavaliers now only hold a 1.5 game lead over the Toronto Raptors.
