It has been reported by Brian Windhorst of ESPN that the Atlanta Hawks have traded a second round pick to acquire point guard Kirk Hinrich from the Chicago Bulls. Atlanta had reportedly been trying to sell their assets in recent weeks but they have ended the deadline in a surprising manager by making an improvement to their roster.

Hinrich is a solid point guard who has shot 37% from beyond the three point line in his career which means he will be a good fit in the Mike Budenholzer offence with stresses good ball movement and creating open looks on the perimeter.

As for Chicago, it appears they are moving towards a rebuild as they have parted with a long time servant of the franchise who was an important cog in the team that Tom Thibodeau took to the playoffs in every one of his seasons in charge.
