It has been reported by Chris Broussard of ESPN that the Orlando Magic have traded forward Tobias Harris to the Detroit Pistons for guard Brandon Jennings and forward Ersan Ilyasova. There are reportedly no draft picks involved and Harris will join up with Stan Van Gundy and is expected to be ready to play on Friday night.

Harris has long been considred the Magic’s best player but he has struggled this year and this has seen his points per game, rebounds per game and assists per game all drop.

Brandon Jennings has missed most of the season with injury and since his comeback he has averaged around seven points per game as he has struggled for minutes.due to Reggie Jackson’s excellent performance.

Ersan Ilyasova had performed well as the stretch four in Stan Van Gundy’s ‘four out one in’ system but he has also been shipped off for Harris who has been a long term subject of admiration from Detroit.

On the surface, the trade looks bad for Orlando but time will tell if they made the correct decision in parting with Tobias Harris.
